Tioman Island: a diving and snorkeling paradise, but also a great spot of idilyc beaches.
This island of idyllic landscapes, located in the South China Sea, off the east Peninsular Malaysia coast, has beautiful beaches with transparent waters teeming with coral and multicolored marine life; jungle-covered highlands and virtually unpopulated streams crystal and the dramatic peaks of Batu Sirau and nenek Semukut.
Tioman is the default destination for those looking for a simpler, rougher beach life, a place where beaches remain underdeveloped, there are few roads, and you're likely to share the sand with the occasional macaque or other wildlife as you walk around the island.
For non-divers, Tioman Island is also a great starting point for kayaking, and it's filled with jungle trekking opportunities. You can snorkel in Marine Park and Ringgis islands, and it is worth a visit to Benut Beach, a turtle sanctuary.
